How do you Measure your Life?

How do you Measure your Life?

It’s funny how I have the same reaction at the beginning of every month of 2024! What do you mean more than half of 2024 is gone? And 2025 is five months away? Where did all the time go??

Like a typical brown kid, I’ve always measured my life in terms of achievements - how many degrees I have, whether I'm getting selected for the cool stuff in the country/ world, and how much salary I'm cashing in.

But, slowly, I am unlearning the idea that of conceptualising myself as a machine. After all, we're human beings, not human doings. Today my definition of success has evolved drastically. It’s having the luxury of time with my ageing parents, having slow mornings and delicious breakfasts, the flexibility to work from any part of the world, financial freedom, and the liberty to build the life of my dreams with the people I love.

So, if you find yourself wondering where your seven months went, ask yourself HOW do you measure your life - in days and months, or moments and freedom?
